Resumen: The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction promotes sustainability in the construction industry by supporting innovative solutions worldwide. To achieve this goal, the Foundation conducts an international sustainable construction competition (Holcim Awards); an academic symposium (Holcim Forum); provides financial support for research and construction projects (Seed Funding); and promotes collaboration through publications and exhibitions. The USD 2 million Holcim Awards competition showcases approaches to improving the sustainability of the built environment from around the globe. More than 3000 projects from 120 countries entered the first Holcim Awards competition 2005/2006. International juries led by five of the worlds leading technical universities selected 46 prize-winning projects.
